Maplewood Garden Club Announces Plant Sale Dates--Sure Signs of Spring II

Meanwhile, for those plant aficionados that like to see and touch their plants before buying them: the mother of all Maplewood plant sales — the Maplewood Garden Club Annual Plant Sale — just announced its 2011 dates. They are:

• Thursday, May 5 from noon to 8 p.m.
• Friday, May 6 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Saturday, May 7 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Proceeds from this sale promote garden information, scholarships and town beautification. The sale takes place at the Maplewood Community Pool parking lot at 187 Boyden Avenue and runs rain or shine. Foliage aficionados can choose among annuals, herbs, perennials, shrubs, vegetables and hanging baskets. And we're sure we've seen a few small trees at some past sales!

Watch your mail for the Garden Club's postcard which acts as a $1 discount coupon with any purchase of $10 or more.

Meanwhile, a number of local Girl Scout troops couldn't wait until May to get their helpful little hands on some fresh buds. The girls were in Maplewood Village early this morning braving the chilly weather and soaking up the strong sun to help plant some impatiens for Maplewood Village Planting Day.
