South Mountain YMCA Aces Score Big
The local team competed successfully on March 19.
The South Mountain YMCA Aces gymnastics teams A and B completed their fourth meet at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA on March 19.
Mae Ertl (A) received 4th place on beam with an 8.0. Julia Engel (B) received 4th place on vault with a 7.7 and 5thon beam with a 7.8. Kellyn Shuster (B) placed 7th on beam with a 7.9, and 8th on bars with a 7.1. Sophia Helmkamp (B) placed 8th All Around with 30.5 total.
The South Mountain Aces came in third with a team score 89.
This team is a less than half the size of some of the other teams, making the girls' hometowns especially proud of their achievements.
