Bob Marley Yoga By Candlelight

Bob Marley Yoga By Candlelight

A great Friday night outing
It’s Friday night and your husband is too tired to go out, but you’re dying to do something. Anything, basically, that’s not work, kid, or school related. We have the perfect solution: Grab a friend or go alone to the Bob Marley Friday Night Flow at Garden State Yoga. Located at 31 Lackawanna Place in Bloomfield, you can get there in less than fifteen minutes, but you’ll soon feel like you’ve been transported to a Caribbean reggae retreat.
Not for those afraid to break a sweat, the Bob Marley Friday Night Flow is a hot power vinyasa yoga class set to Bob Marley music and done by candlelight. The room is heated to 95 degrees with 50% humidity. The class is 90 minutes, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The experience has been called ‘meditation in motion’ and is reputed to ‘detoxify, heal, and rejuvenate the body’ as well ashelp facilitate the integration of sweat, strength, and spirit.’
We’re not sure exactly what that means, but the combination of relaxing to Bob Marley in candlelight and burning probably hundreds of calories from the heat and postures is just divine.
And an added bonus? Many of the class members often adjourn from the class and meet up at Fitzgeralds 1928 in Glen Ridge for snacks and spirits (or mineral water for purists) directly afterward.
The unbeatable combination of a mellow, good-for-you yoga class with a night out at a local pub? Now that’s a great escape and a very good reason to leave hubby home with the kids at the end of a long week.
