Just the other month, I was pleasantly surprised to see a newly renovated home at 193 Lexington Ave in Maplewood top out at a sales price of $507,110. This particular home was listed for sale at $439,000 and had multiple offers that resulted in a winning bid that was 15.5% over asking. In fact, prices for sold homes in the Hilton neighborhood are up over 18% so far this year--outpacing the trend for the total township which is currently ahead of last year by 4.7%. Furthermore, prices are topping the charts at an average sale price of just under $360,000 versus $305,000 last year at the same time.
The Hilton Neighborhood is situated between 1.1 miles to 1.5 miles distance to the Maplewood's NJ Transit Train Station. It has a very active neighborhood association and, in fact, our mayor resides in this section of town. As a typically located property for sale--183 Hilton Avenue--the Hilton neighborhood has a Walk Score of 84 out of 100. This location is Very Walkable so most errands can be accomplished on foot and includes over 20 places to eat and shop, including Walgreen's, The Rack (coffee shop), Dunkin Donuts and one of my favorites--HLS, Heath, Love, Soul for healthy blended juice drinks, salads and sandwiches. It also includes both a regular Gym--Eastside Fitness--and a trainer's gym, aptly called THE GYM.
It's close to Whole Foods, Target, Trader Joe's, Home Depot and Best Buy
It's situated in between two parks: DeHart and Maplecrest.
It "houses" the second branch of the town's library, complete with gazebo with music performances
