Like the Dickens: yes we do love our lil Dicken's Village in Maplewood




Dickens Village debuts this Saturday, Dec. 3 (yes, it's already that time of year!) with the arrival of Santa on a fire truck (1 p.m.), visits with Santa (1-3 p.m.), holiday readings by town celebrities (3-4 p.m.), community entertainment (4 p.m.), a reading by Vice Mayor Kathy Leventhal (4:45 p.m.) and the tree lighting at 5 p.m.





The Dickens Village houses will be open for each Saturday (Dec. 3, Dec. 10, and Dec. 17) from 1 - 4 p.m. The houses will also be open from 1-3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18.

Here's the remainder of events for Dickens Village 2011:

On Saturday, Dec. 10 —

1-4 p.m. Visit with Santa
1-4 p.m. Real reindeer from Edelweiss Farms
1:30-4 p.m. Horse & wagon rides through Maplewood Village
2-2:45 p.m. Holiday reading for children at Words Bookstore
Strollers will also be caroling throughout the village.

On Saturday, Dec. 17 —

1-4 p.m. Visit with Santa
1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. Jack's Petting Zoo
1:30 p.m.-4 p.m. Horse & wagon rides through the village
2-2:45 p.m. Craft & Story Program for children of all ages at Maplewood Memorial Library
Strollers will also be caroling throughout the village.

On Sunday, Dec. 18 —

1-1:30 p.m. Visit with Santa
1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. Community entertainment

On Thursday, Dec. 22 —

6 p.m. Menorah Lighting, Ricalton Square
