Maplewood Child Actor 'Gone Right' Receives Award in Hollywood

Maplewood Child Actor 'Gone Right' Receives Award in Hollywood

The honor, said Beatrice Miller's mom, is the "anti-child-star-gone-bad" award.
How many local kids have dreams of walking the red carpet in Hollywood?
Well, at least one little girl from Maplewood has lived that dream — and lived it more than once.
Twelve-year-old Beatrice Miller has walked the red carpet for the premiere of Toy Story 3 (she voiced Andy's sister Molly) and other features, but most recently strolled the crimson way to receive a CARE Award from BizParentz Foundation on April 30 at Universal Studios Hollywood.
According to Bea's mom, Hilery Kipnis, the ceremony is "billed as a kind of 'anti-child-star-gone-bad' event." Miller received the award along with 150 other young actors from around the globe.
To be eligible for a CARE Award, young performers must have worked professionally in 2010, while demonstrating good academics, community service, union membership, acting study, and more. Parents even took a quiz on their business knowledge of the entertainment industry.
Miller was recognized for her work on Toy Story 3, HBO’s upcoming movie Too Big To Fail (premiering May 23), the CBS holiday special Yes, Virginia and the off-Broadway show "Honey Brown Eyes," as well as other TV, film, theatrical and commercial work in 2010.
In addition to her professional work, Miller has been working hard in 6th grade at Maplewood Middle School and enjoys participating in community service events, like helping at the food pantry with her Girl Scout Troop.
Said Kipnis, "Beatrice was a CARE awardee for the previous two years but this is the first time she is attending the event. She is thrilled to walk the red carpet with other deserving awardees."
Not one to rest on her laurels, Miller will be heading off to work on another feature film Officer Down, shooting in New England with David Boreanaz, Stephen Dorff and Elisabeth Rohm.
The CARE Awards are presented by BizParentz Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to education, advocacy and charitable support to parents and children engaged in the entertainment industry.
